How Thamma Differs from Other Hits
Movie did not live up to its predecessors, even if ₹24.87 crore is a good start
Stree 2 – debuted at ₹35 crore last year
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 -₹32 crore against competition with Singham Again.
With only Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat coming out this Diwali, Rashmika Mandanna and Ayushmaan Khurana’s Movie had very little competition. Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa starred in that movie, which kept up a steady tempo but fell short of Thamma‘s drive.
A Joyous Release with Great Hopes
Thamma, the fifth film in Maddock’s Horror Comedy Universe, was released on October 21. It follows the success of Stree and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Aditya Sarpotdar is the director of the picture, which centers on a journalist-turned-vampire traversing a cursed town and combines supernatural thrills with oddball humor.
The film’s Christmas timing and star power helped it draw large crowds despite receiving mixed reviews. The film’s popularity was increased by the chemistry between Ayushmann and Rashmika as well as Nawazuddin’s quirky charm.
What Will Happen to Thamma Next?
Movie should do well over the weekend thanks to the festive momentum and good word-of-mouth. The way it performs will have a significant impact on Maddock’s horror-comedy franchise’s future.
Stay Tuned for updates on Day 2 and the weekend.
