On October 15, 24 transgender people in the Nandlalpura neighborhood of Indore made a horribly unsettling attempt at mass suicide by taking phenyl. Although, they are safe now. The deed was a desperate plea for justice rather than an unplanned accident

Reports state that two transsexual women were allegedly raped by guys acting as journalists, which set off the protest. The community felt frightened and ignored despite complaining, which led to this extreme form of protest.
